SOCIALIZATION Of Your New Puppy....Puppies go through an important period that they need to be socialized between the age of 8 to 16 weeks.  During this time they are maturing rapidly with their bodies and minds.  If you isolate them from the outside world, they can grow to be fearful as adults.  If puppies are not socialized at an early age, no matter where they were raised, the outcome will usually be the same.  Puppies that receive little contact between the ages of 8 to 16 weeks often remain fearful when exposed to new situations.

The key is to make sure you expose your puppy to everything he may ever be exposed to during his lifetime, while he is young.  If he is not exposed to new situations during this time, your puppy may be fearful when exposed to new things as he gets older.

You might want to enroll your puppy in a puppy training class.  This could have many benefits.  He will be exposed to many new situations along with the socialization.  Exposing your puppy to new experiences, especially strangers and other dogs, is very important to having a well balanced adult dog.
As I get more guestions about Health & Nutrition, I will keep this page updated for you to have imformation available.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
